DCUK has a proud tradition of working with Indonesian partners using traditional handcrafting and painting skills for over 20 years to create something special.
All DCUK characters are individually hand-carved from the roots of bamboo. After travelling inside one of our shipping containers, you may find a light residue on the surface of a duck. If this happens, it can be easily wiped off with a damp cloth.
Occasionally, there can also be some discoloration on the surface of the DCUK pin. This can usually be quickly removed by rubbing with a mild abrasive. These factors do not affect the beauty of the finished gift. For many DCUK customers and collectors, the unique markings and natural quirks of bamboo root are actually part of the enduring charm of owning a crafted character. How wonderful is that?
